Time for DIY
I like to DIY stuff alot, just that, sometimes, time doesn't allow. This time round, I wanted to have some continuous light. During concert, or shooting in back stage, you cant really throw in a flash. The best way is to light up the area you want with a continuous light. No body will actually notice you at all. The circuit over there is very easy. Every LED is in parallel. Tape up and on 1 of my old flash. The 12 LEDs are power up with 4X AA batt. I place 2X orange gel to get the light temperature right. Will update the photos I shot with this light on the later post.

Manual Flash Power
Most of the people will set flash to TTL mode. Yes, TTL mode is really good, especially on nikon system. But still, when you are facing stage performance, crowds, and some shots which cover a large area of black space, your flash will put out a full power. This always happen with you are not on a direct flash. The fastest way to overcome this problem is to use manual mode. Take note of your flash and the subject distance. Using a direct flash, TTL will still be ok, in return, you will have a really hash flash, and alot of noise in your background.

New collection
Got myself another sb-800. Alot question me, why not the new sb-900?
I am not going to FX so soon, and sb-800 is alot smaller, compare to the big and new sb-900. I will still need to borrow friends camera to update the sb-900 firmware.
Therefore, sb-800 !!!

The old, trusty reliable sb-80dx is still a very good flash. It still does D-ttl on my D2h. The flash can be trigger just like the su-4 mode in the sb-800. Great for off camera flash. And also the Sigma flash, with the optical trigger, it does the same as su-4 mode too.

There are some people who ask me, what is the yellow plastic doing on your flash head. It is a colour gel. This colour will balance with most ballroom temperature. Even if you are using the flash for fill in, the gel will give you a nicer skin tone.
The gel is call Lee filters 103. Cost $12, a really big piece. Can share with lots of friends.

For high ISO user, do try this way to diffuse your flash.

NYOCO Performance @ NYP
This has been the 2nd year I am covering the performance. This time round, we have 5 members including me. This year, before the start of the event, introduction and thanks words are very well said by 2 kindergarden girls. They are so cute, and each words they project out, is sharp and clear. I dun think i can speak as good as the 2 girls. Haha. Those who know me, will know where my english and chinese standart stop at.

Nikon D90
Tested my friend's D90 in the Arena Singapore. The high ISO performance is really great. Plus movie record functions, i am able to record videos much clearer in such low light conditions.
